PIKE Shaves have raised
nearly $250K for Duke Cancer Institute AYA Services!
"This was Bobby's favorite day of the year, and
it is the best event I've ever been to at Duke" -Ryan
The Annual "Shave for Shreiber/Buzz for Bobby" (S4S/B4B) PIKE fundraisers at Duke have involved many in the Duke and greater Durham communities. Originally begun to support their fraternity brothers, Mark Shreiber and Bobby Menges, who were simultaneously undergoing cancer treatment, PIKE has continued the tradition and it continues to grow. Funds support AYA programs and services for adolescents and young adults at the Duke University Medical Center.
"I remember talking to Bobby about his dreams for the future of this event. He spoke about how he hoped that the legacy of this fundraiser would carry on past his graduation from Duke, until people didn’t have any idea who he or Schreiber were. Unfortunately, we lost our good friend Bobby this past fall to his battle with cancer. However, his legacy and the lives he touched will be sure to live on in strength." -Michael, 2018
16th Menges Blood Drive attracts another big crowd!
Jake and Bobby Menges hosted their first semi-annual blood drive at their home in 2012. Jake continued the drives in Bobby's memory and changed the name to the "Bobby Menges Memorial Blood Drive".
Garden City High School friends, Duke friends, neighbors and strangers stopped by on Sunday, 12/22 to donate blood in memory of Bobby, in honor of loved ones, and simply to give the gift of life this holiday season. Thank you all who donated!
